kolektyvinis saugumas statusas T sritis Politika apibrėžtis Tarptautinės tvarkos aiškinimas, pagal kurį kiekvienos valstybės nacionalinis saugumas užtikrinamas kolektyvinėmis valstybių bendrijos pastangomis. Samprata suformuluota liberaliosios tarptautinių santykių teorijos kontekste, siekiant išspręsti valstybių nesaugumo problemą. Pasaulio valstybės galėtų išvengti tarpusavio karų, jei visos sukurtų pasaulinę tarptautinę organizaciją, kuri užtikrintų kolektyvinį saugumą. Liberalai tiki, kad tokia saugumo sistema iš esmės sumažintų karinių konfliktų tikimybę, nes atgrasytų agresorius nuo piktų kėslų. Agresyvumą skatina nebaudžiamumas, bet jei galimas agresorius žinotų, kad jam teks susidurti ne su vienos valstybės, o su visos valstybių bendrijos atkirčiu, ko gero, agresijos planų atsisakytų. Šia idėja buvo grindžiama pasaulinių organizacijų – Tautų Lygos ir JT – veikla. Praktika parodė, kad agresoriaus atgrasa dažniausiai neveikia, nes, kilus dviejų valstybių konfliktui, kitos, tiesiogiai į jį neįtrauktos, šalys dažniausiai vengia kištis ir imasi tik diplomatinių demaršų. Silpnoji vieta – valstybių interesai dažniausiai nesutampa ir saugumas retai būna nedalus.
